Where is the cookery school?
Situated above Newlyns Farm Shop in North Warnborough, is our stunningly appointed demonstration and teaching kitchen. We provide cookery courses for anyone wanting to learn the basics through to preparing impressive specialist menus. We also have ample free parking directly outside the shop.

When should I arrive for a course?
Please allow 15 minutes before the course starts to sign in and meet the team

Should I eat before an evening class?
We advise you to have a light meal before you come to our evening classes. There will be tasters during the evening. NB: If you are attending either our Tapas & Spanish Wine, Tour de France or Canapés & Bubbles course, then you don't need to eat beforehand.

Will I have my own workstation or be sharing?
The workstations are grouped into 4's so whilst you will be working individually it is very sociable!

What happens to the food I cook?
It's all yours! Several of the classes are designed so that guests eat some of the delicious dishes they create for lunch. Everything else is yours to take away and impress friends and family.

Will there be cookery demonstrations during the practical classes?
Yes we intersperse cookery demonstrations with hands on cooking so that you can see and taste as many delicious dishes as possible, to pick up all the skills, hints and tips you need to recreate the recipes at home.

I have an allergy, intolerance or other dietary requirement. Will you be able to accommodate it?
For almost all classes we will be able to adjust dishes to accommodate a dietary requirement. Please let our reservations team know before you book or provide full details on your web booking so that we can make the necessary arrangements for you.

Will I be able to try the food that the Tutor cooks in their demonstrations?
Of course, all dishes will be available to taste.

Do I need to bring an apron?
No. We will provide you with one of our Newlyn's Cookery School professional aprons.

What clothing and footwear should I wear?
We suggest comfortable flat shoes with a closed toe and for clothing we recommend trousers and to bring a long-sleeved top with you that you can put on if needed i.e to protect your arms when using a frying pan at high temperatures.

Will I need to stand for long periods of time?
Our aim is to make you as comfortable as possible during our hands on classes and if at any point you need a seat we will be more than happy to bring one to you. During our demonstations you will be sat on stools around the Tutor's bench.

Do I need to bring containers to take my food home in?
We will provide you with containers to take food home and bags to carry them in. However if you would like to bring your own you are more than welcome to do so.

Will I have to do any washing up?
No! We are here to make sure you have the most enjoyable time so our team will take care of all the clearing and washing up.

Do I have to be an experienced home cook to come on a class?
We welcome all levels and abilities on all of our classes. For those who have never tried the technique or skill being covered we will give you all the help and support you need to get great results first time. And for those more confident in the kitchen we will help you to refine and improve your techniques to enjoy your cooking even more. If you are completely new to the kitchen then we recommend booking on our Beginners course.
